Men’s health at the heart of our actions
Age related health issues in men
Benign prostatic hyperplasia, age-related testosterone deficiency (or andropause), as well as erectile disorders—including erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease—are among the many men’s health issues that are often underdiagnosed and undertreated in Quebec. The majority of these conditions appear after the age of 50.
In this context, since 2024, the Ronald-Denis Foundation has been committed to improving access to care for conditions affecting men’s health, in order to better meet their needs and provide appropriate support.
The Foundation strongly believes that access to surgical care within a reasonable timeline is a right.
Operating time to reduce waiting lists
We are dedicated to facilitating access to surgical care by raising funds to purchase operating time outside of hospitals to reduce waiting lists
Easier access to surgical care for men
Thanks to the donations made to the Ronald-Denis Foundation, we have been able to acquire state-of-the-art equipment for minimally invasive surgeries, allowing urologists to utilize this technology and treat many patients who would otherwise have to wait much longer for care..
Funding grated by the Fondation
In September, the Ronald-Denis Foundation finalized the purchase of the Piranha Morcellator from AMT Medical. This device, used in urological surgeries particularly during HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) enables the safe and efficient morcellation and removal of prostate tissue. The equipment was financed interest-free over 36 months.
With this acquisition, the Foundation now helps provide optimal surgical care for patients with BPH and enlarged prostates. This marks a significant advancement, improving access to this specialized procedure, which remains available in only a limited number of centers across the province.
